The Metropolitan Building still stands today although its name has been changed by current owners to Chemstress Courtyard.

This Day In History

1881 On this day in 1881, The Akron Water Works Company began providing water service in Akron. The original supply came from an artesian well that was pumped into a reservoir.
1906 On this day in 1906, the Portage Country Club opened at Portage Path and Twin Oaks Road.
