Akron High School – S. Forge St.

Akron High School, built in 1884, was renamed Central High School in 1911 when South High was built. The school sat on the current site of Central-Hower High School until it was demolished and replaced in 1973.

This Day In History

1930 On this day in 1930, Akron got its first look at the new Polsky'sDepartment store. The doors were opened for a special preview before it's opening on the 16th.
