Akron High School – S. Forge St.

Akron High School, built in 1884, was renamed Central High School in 1911 when South High was built. The school sat on the current site of Central-Hower High School until it was demolished and replaced in 1973.

This Day In History

1931 On this day in 1931, Police Officer Forrest Good was shot and killed by two suspects who had possession of a stolen automobile at the intersection of North Prospect Street and Bluff Street.
