This Day In History

1845 On this day in 1845, the "Niagara Fire Company, No. 2" was formed.
1868 On this day in 1868, Harvey Samuel Firestone, founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, was born.
1899 On this day in 1899, a massive fire destroyed Buchtel College.
1984 On this day in 1984, an explosion at the Akron Steam Plant kills three workers. The cause was traced to a shipment of sawdust mixed with oil and paint from New Jersey.
