This Day In History

1820 On this day in 1820, wealthy Akronite, John R. Buchtel was born in nearby Stark County. Buchtel was a leading investor in Akron's Buchtel College.
2009 On this day in 2009, METRO’s downtown Akron Transit Center opened for service. The center is located at 631 S. Broadway Street.
