The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company – Main Plant

In 1916, Goodyear became the world’s largest tire company. This is also when the company began using the slogan “More people ride on Goodyear tires than on any other kind.”

1995 On this day in 1995, the United Rubber Workers union, born in Akron in 1935, merged into the United Steelworkers of America.
