In 1912, after several years of success, the Diamond Rubber Company was merged into competitor B. F. Goodrich.

This Day In History

1912 On this day in 1912, President William Howard Taft made a whistle stop campaign speech at Grace Park to a small audience.
1916 On this day in 1916, the Crystal Restaurant (corner of Main Street and Quarry Street) collapsed as a result of a blast of dynamite in an adjoining excavation. Nine people were killed and 22 were injured.
