Camp Ledgewood – Girl Scouts

Camp Ledgewood was established in 1931 with 350 acres near Akron, Ohio in Peninsula. The camp boundaries are within the modern day Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

This Day In History

1827 On this day in 1827, the first canal boat on the Ohio and Erie Canal left Akron, traveled through 41 locks and over 3 aqueducts along 37 miles of canal, to arrive at Cleveland on July 4.
1949 On this day in 1949, Donald L. Plusquellic, Akron's longest-serving mayor, was born.
