This Day In History

1908 On this day in 1908, Presidential candidate, William Howard Taft spoke at the German Music Hall and then attended a dinner given in his honor at Twentieth Century Hall by the Christopher Columbus Society.
1916 On this day in 1916, Deputy Marshal Doubledee of the Kenmore Police Department was stabbed to death after he and another deputy marshal arrested two escapees from the Kenmore Jail at the intersection of Steiner Street and Sweitzer Street in Akron.
1922 On this day in 1922, the North Hill Viaduct opened with a grand parade that attracted 150,000 spectators.
1967 On this day in 1967, Chapel Hill Mall opened for business.
