Pavilion – Springfield Lake

The Springfield Lake Pavilion was used for many social functions, including dancing on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. Patrons danced to the music of big name bands such as Guy Lombardo and Vaughn Monroe.

This Day In History

1827 On this day in 1827, the first canal boat on the Ohio and Erie Canal left Akron, traveled through 41 locks and over 3 aqueducts along 37 miles of canal, to arrive at Cleveland on July 4.
1949 On this day in 1949, Donald L. Plusquellic, Akron's longest-serving mayor, was born.
