This Day In History

1900 On this day in 1900, The first woman to ever ride in a police car was Nellie A. Kolb. She was invited to ride Akron's first of its kind motorized "Patrol Wagon" by Chief of Police Harrison.
1918 On this day in 1918, Police Officer Joseph H. Hunt died. He was the third of four Akron Policemen to be shot and killed by members of an Italian gang in retaliation for the Akron Police Department's crackdown on their gambling dens and brothels.
