Built during World War II, the multi-million dollar Research laboratory of The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, located on Goodyear Boulevard in Akron.

This Day In History

1901 On this day in 1901, the Akron YWCA was organized.
1930 On this day in 1930, Police Officer Harland F. Manes Officer Harland Manes was shot and killed while responding to an accident. One of the vehicles involved in the accident contained members of the Pretty Boy Floyd Gang, who shot and killed Officer Manes.
