This Day In History

1933 On this day in 1933, the USS Akron (ZRS-4) was destroyed in a thunderstorm off the coast of New Jersey killing 73 of the 76 crewmen and passengers. This accident was the greatest loss of life in any airship crash.
1959 On this day in 1959, then Senator, John F. Kennedy gave an address to the Jefferson Jackson club in the ballroom of the Mayflower Hotel.
