City Hospital

In 1989 Akron’s City Hospital and St. Thomas Hospital merged to form the Summa Health. The new company runs a network of hospitals including Akron, Barberton, St. Thomas, and Western Reserve.

This Day In History

1960 On this day in 1960, Police Officer Floyd A. Weatherholt was shot and killed as he chased a burglary suspect through the backyard of a home on East Exchange Street.
