This Day In History

1900 On this day in 1900, Rioters took to the streets after a man named Louis Peck was alleged to have lured a small girl, Christina Maas, out of town and raped her. After his arrest, a mob formed outside the police building demanding Peck’s head. When the police did not give up Peck, the mob turned violent with shots being fired from both sides. 4-year-old Rhoda Davidson and 10-year-old Glen Wade were killed in the violence that ensued.
