This Day in History: 1913-05-06

On this day in 1913, Governor Cox pardoned Louis Peck, releasing him from the Ohio Penitentiary. Peck was accused of having assaulted six-year-old Christina Maas in 1900. His confession and arrest were followed by days of rioting that shook the city. Rioters wanted to lynch Peck for his crime.
